The Smith & Wesson M&P40 is a CO₂ airsoft replica, manufactured under license from Smith & Wesson, with a design inspired by the M&P series.

The model uses a 12 g CO₂ capsule mounted in the handle and operates in a Non-Blowback system, which means that the sleeve does not perform the recoil cycle with each shot. This construction simplifies the mechanism and allows the gas to be used mainly to propel the bullet.

The replica has a metal sleeve, while the frame is made of polymer. A Picatinny rail is integrated into the lower part of the frame, which allows the mounting of compatible accessories.

The Hop-Up system is fixed, and the magazine has a capacity of 15 bullets. Umarex indicates a maximum energy of less than 2 J, with a speed of up to approximately 140 m/s, depending on the conditions of use and the bullets used.
