Associated hazards and risks

Deep discharge (< ~3.0 V per cell): leads to irreversible damage and loss of recharge capacity.

Overcharge (> ~4.2 V per cell): risk of swelling, fire or explosion.

Current above the 20 C limit: if the replica demands more, the battery may overheat → risk of damage or fire.

Physical impact, perforation, deformation: these can compromise the casing or internal insulation, leading to short circuits or dangerous chemical reactions.

Exposure to extreme temperatures: above 60 °C → risk of explosion or accelerated degradation; below 0 °C → performance reduction, risk during charging.

Unattended charging: if left unattended, there is a major risk of fire; it is ideal to use a fireproof bag and stay near the charger while it is charging.

Safety recommendations

Use only Li-Po chargers with balancing to keep the cells balanced.

Disconnect the battery from the replica immediately after use to prevent unnecessary discharge/parasite.

Charge the battery under supervision and using a fireproof bag, in a safe place.

Store it at ~3.8 V per cell if not used for a few days, in a cool place away from heat sources.

Inspect it regularly: if you notice swelling, deformation, unusual smell or excessive heat – stop using it.
